John Janssen has been acclaimed as the Nipissing-Timiskaming People's Party of Canada (PPC) candidate for the federal election to be held on April 28.
PPC officials say Janssen is motivated to run for office by his deep concern for the future of Canada, his commitment to his family, and his strong faith.
"Disillusioned by the Conservatives, Liberals and NDP, all of whom share the same globalist vision, John is a proud supporter of the People's Party of Canada and their commitment to defending the values of freedom, personal responsibility, respect and fairness," a PPC release stated.
An area resident for more than 20 years, John and his wife Beth, along with their two children, live on an off-grid hobby farm in Chisholm Township, south of North Bay. He is the founder of ITSN, an information technology company supplying IT services across Ontario.
In his free time, Janssen enjoys crown land camping with his family and is an avid enthusiast of hunting, fishing, and sport shooting.
“We face a time of unprecedented challenges,” said Janssen. “Because of rampant government spending over the last 10 years, the hollowing out of our military capabilities, and the obsession with climate change and gender radicalism by the Liberal government, Canada is in a particularly vulnerable position."
"We need to return to our core values to confront the economic and social difficulties facing our great country.”
Janssen believes the PPC can restore prosperity and return power to the people if, on April 28, "we have the courage of our convictions."
Pauline Rochefort has been acclaimed as the Liberal Party candidate.
The Nipissing-Timiskaming Conservatives nominated Garry Keller as its candidate.
Nipissing-Timiskaming NDP has voted for Englehart teacher Valerie Kennedy to be its next candidate.
The Green Party has not announced a local candidate yet.
