More candidates have joined the race in two Northern Ontario ridings ahead of the provincial election.
The deadline for candidates to register with Elections Ontario is tomorrow (Feb. 13) at 2 p.m.
The Liberals have named candidates in Mushkegowuk-James Bay and Timiskaming-Cochrane, and other parties have people lined up as well.
In Mushkegowuk-James Bay, the Liberals and Green Party have candidates listed on their respective websites, though they aren't registered with Elections Ontario yet.
The Liberal candidate is Kyle Allen and Green Party candidate Catherine Jones.
As of today (Feb. 12) the only two candidates registered with Elections Ontario are NDP incumbent Guy Bourgouin and Progressive Conservative David Plourde.
In Timiskaming-Cochrane, five candidates are on the ballot so far.
Liberal candidate Rick Ellsmere has thrown his hat in the ring, along with Stephen McLeod of the New Blue party.
The other candidates are Progressive Conservative Tory Delaurier, Green Kris Rivard and NDP incumbent John Vanthof.
In Timmins, there are still only two names in the race — NDP Corey Lepage and PC incumbent George Pirie.
Election day is Feb. 27.
