While the library will be temporarily shuttered for the 14-day shutdown, curbside service will be available.
The shutdown is in effect in Northern Ontario from Dec. 26 to Jan. 9.
At the Timmins Public Library, curbside pickup to borrow items will be available at both branches. Materials can be returned in the book drop.
During the shutdown, people will not be able to browse collections, use public computers or access printing, photocopying, faxing and scanning services.
The services available by phone and online are:
- Place holds on materials for curbside pickup service.
- Obtain reference services by email or by phone
- Sign up for a library card online or by phone
- Visit the Library’s eResources page to access eBooks, eAudio Books, eMagazines, eResources and movies (Overdrive/Libby, Cantook, Ancestry, RB Digital, Hoopla streaming service, etc.) with your library card number and PIN. If you need help with your PIN, call 705-360-2623 or email [email protected].
- Try out our Tumble Book Library featuring animated, talking picture books that teach young children the joys of reading in a format they’ll love.
- Online programming for all ages on Facebook
Overdue fines at the library are waived, and extended loan periods of four weeks for books and two weeks for magazines and DVDs still apply. All materials being returned are quarantined for 72 hours.
