Here's a list of reopened Timmins businesses

As some businesses are allowed to open their doors again, it's not business as usual.

Here are some of the local businesses that have reopened, along with the new COVID-19 safety measures they're using. 

If you are a business owner and want to be added to the list, please email the name of your business and new safety measures people should know about to [email protected]. This list will updated regularly with the submissions.

Although restrictions are being eased, the Porcupine Health Unit continues to ask people to stay home except for essential trips, to have one family member per household visit a store at a time, to stay physically distanced outside the home, and to consider wearing a face mask when maintaining the two-metre spacing isn't possible.

Businesses that have reopened include:

Timmins Square, 1500 Riverside Dr. The mall is open and stores are gradually reopening. According to their website, the stores and services open today (June 12) are Boathouse, Centre de Sante Communautaire de Timmins, Dollarama, Eastlink, Eclipse, GNC Live Well, Hallmark, La Vie en Rose, Laura Secord, Mark's, Montana's, No Frills, Pet Valu, Pharmasave, Siva's Family Restaurant, Tim Hortons, TipTop Tailors, Urban Planet, Warehouse One, Wicked Stuff, and Wok Express.

Northern Purl, 101 Mall. There is a maximum of two customers at a time. Visitors are required to use hand sanitizer. Payment is debit, credit or e-transfer only. If you are immunocompromised or high risk and prefer to shop alone, appointments can be made by emailing [email protected] or messaging them on Facebook.

Artsie Studio, 75 Pine St. S. Only one to two people are allowed in at a time for social distancing. Hand sanitizer is mandatory upon entering and the front counter has a plexiglass protector. A mask must be worn when picking out frame orders. All surfaces, the debit machine and door are wiped down after every visit. The hours are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mi Casa Fashions, 42 Pine St. S. There is a maximum of six customers at a time. Hand sanitizer is available at the door and on the counter. The hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Altered Reality, 264 Third Ave. There is an arrow system in place and hand sanitizer available.

Flondra Jewellers Ltd., 213 Third Ave. The temporary hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. There is a limit of two customers in the store at a time. The doors are locked, but there is a doorbell.

Lemongrass, 254 Third Ave. A maximum of 10 people are allowed in at a time and customers are asked to wear a glove if they're going to touch an item.

Steinberg and Mahn, 25 Wilson Ave. There is a max of three customers at a time. Customers are required to use hand sanitizer at the door, and masks are available. After every use, change rooms are being cleaned, and the counter and equipment will be also be disinfected. If people try on an item that isn't bought, it will be steamed and taken out of inventory for three days. Appointments are an option if you're not comfortable having other customers in the store.

Unforgettables Home and Garden Decor, 374 Algonquin Blvd. E. Maximum of four people in the store at a time.

Jorie's Fine Clothing, 52 Pine St. S. Three shoppers are allowed in at a time. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be available, and the change rooms disinfected after each use. Items tried on and not purchased will be steamed and taken out of inventory for 24 hours. Open weekdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., with Saturdays by appointment only. 

Recreation

Timmins Wake Park - Located at Gillies Lake, it's open for the season. Staff and clients must sanitize their hands before entering. On the dock, only lesson participants are permitted, with the exception of a parent or guardian for a minor participants. Common areas are being sanitized between clients. People are asked to book their sessions in advance and encouraged to use a card capable of tap to minimize contact with the debite machine (cash is still being accepted). Timmins Adventure Tours - Rentals will be open this month. They will be rotated and sanitized after each use, and customers will be handling their own equipment, which will be set in designated areas.

Services

Dr. LouAnn Visconti's Office, 60 Wilson Ave. They are practising physical distancing and patients require a mask and eye protection (sunglasses). COVID-19 screening is being done prior to entering the office, and patients are entering and leaving the office at staggered times to avoid compromising social distancing.

Wizard of Paws Grooming Services, 112 Way Ave. In addition to the new standards of clean, they have implemented a great 'no contact' drop off and pickup scenario. They also accept payment via debit or credit.

Inner-Chi is a registered TCM Acupuncture and Wholistic health clinic located in the Pine Plaza at 119 Pine St S. that sees clients on a one-to-one basis with room sanitation and clean linens following each client. A pre-screen has been put into place prior to clients visits and masks are encouraged to be worn. Hand sanitizer and a handwashing station is available with clients cleaning hands upon entry and at the end of each session. Practicing guidelines are updated as required with recommendations made by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Licensing Colleges. Appointments may be made by phone at 705-365-8115, email [email protected] or online at auclairfamilychiropractic.janeapp.com/.

Chandra Ciccone Counselling currently provides online individual counselling and psychotherapy services, and will be gradually resuming certain in-person individual services in the future, with social distancing protocols and safety measures in place, as well as a screening process. Rainville Foot Health - They are gradually resuming services and have new safety protocol in place, including clients being required to wear a face mask. There will also be screening and people are asked to make an appointment by phone or online and to not drop by the clinic. More details on the new requirements are available here.

Patios 

Full Beard Brewing, 219 Wilson Ave. An expanded patio is open. Expect to sign in with your name and number before sitting down, and to maintain a physical distance from other guests.
