You can grab a beer on the patio, but there are new rules in place before you sit down.
Outdoor patios are allowed to open today in Timmins, as the Porcupine Health Unit Area is one of 24 regions in Ontario moving into the second phase of reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Full Beard Brewing opened an expanded patio area today, with new safety measures in place.
The new area in the parking lot of the brewery at 219 Wilson Ave. features picnic tables, as well as new tables with camping chairs that can be moved around.
A few of the owners took to Facebook today to explain how it's going to work.
Some of the new rules you can expect include leaving your name and number on a contact list before going in, the patio will have service so customers aren't going in and out of the building, and beer will only be served in recyclable plastic cups.
To keep staff safe, Benjie Potvin said people who are not feeling well should stay home, noting the brewery still offers free delivery in town.
Customers are also asked to keep their distance from other people.
“All our girls will have a hockey stick, this is a six-foot length,” Potvin demonstrated.
“If you get hooked three times out of your social distancing we will have to unfortunately politely ask you to leave. So do not get caught by the CCM, obey the rules.”
If you're stopping by for takeout from Manitoulin Pizza, there will be signs and markers on the ground to follow for the pick up.
Originally this weekend was for Mug Club members only, but they have since shared that the patio is open to the public. People are asked to make a reservation this weekend by calling 705-268-0444. The patio hours Friday and Saturday are 4 p.m. to 8. p.m.
Monday it will open from noon to 8 p.m.
As staff adjust to the new normal, Jonathan St-Pierre asked for people to be patient.
“There might be some longer wait times,” he said.
