Karen Quesnel

Registered Social Worker

Karen is a Registered Social Worker, licensed teacher, and current MSW student. She originates from Northern Ontario and understands the challenges, needs, and resilience among Northerners. For close to thirty years, she has supported teens and their families through different roles as an educator. Karen’s experiences in virtual therapy have supported clients with chronic health conditions, trauma, and the ambivalence surrounding our roles and relationships with others. She has served as a board director and volunteer with adult literacy non-profits and has been a volunteer for those experiencing traumatic incidents in need of short-term support.

Sometimes clients feel they must reach unattainable ideals in their
relationships, careers, and how they define success. This can lead to feelings of being unfulfilled, stress, and uncertainty in who we are. Therapy can be an effective way to define your life’s benchmarks based upon your own values and goals, not what anyone else including society has determined for you!

I utilize an empowerment approach that emphasizes your past and current success and resilience. Through exploring your current situation and how it is defined by you, I can work alongside you to design a plan that brings you contentment and confidence in your own capacities. Allow me to help you shape your life plan and personal goals through individual or couples therapy.
I strive to create a culturally-safe, trusting, and respectful therapeutic
relationship. You will be met with compassion, respect, and faith in your abilities! I value the therapeutic benefits that come from being challenged and presented with honesty – my commitment to you.
