The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) has announced the retirement of president and CEO Jamie Lim.
The former Timmins mayor has been at the helm of the OFIA for 17 years.
In an OFIA news release, board of director's chair Erik Holmstrom said the OFIA is "a far more effective and collaborative association" following Lim's tenure.
“Jamie’s enthusiastic leadership allowed our association to navigate in complex environments, engage diverse stakeholders and rights holders and, most importantly, lead to the development of Ontario’s recently announced Sustainable Growth: Ontario Forest Sector Strategy,” the release continued.
“Her optimism for the sustainable growth of Ontario’s forest sector continues to be contagious.”
Succeeding Lim will be Ian Dunn, who currently serves as OFIA’s executive director of policy and operations.
He will take on the presidency in an interim capacity, effective. Jan. 1, 2021.
Holstrom called his appointment an “important step in the implementation of our CEO succession plan.”
“Ian has worked closely with Jamie and the members for many years and has demonstrated his experience and commitment to the OFIA,” he said.
“We are pleased to have Ian take on this role in the new year.”
Inaugurated in 1943, OFIA is a provincial trade association representing forestry companies from around the province with a commitment to the three pillars of sustainability: environmental protection, social development, and economic development.
