As work continues on the new centralized LCBO store in Timmins, an opening date has not been set.
The new store is located at 681 Algonquin Blvd. next to the Shoppers Drug Mart. Working is ongoing on the base building and the exact opening is yet to be determined, according to an LCBO spokesperson.
Once it opens, the existing Timmins and South Porcupine locations will close. The stores remain open in the meantime.
"We are consolidating the Timmins and South Porcupine stores so we can offer a brand new, larger format, free-standing store that can better serve both communities," said the spokesperson.
"The new store will be in a newer commercial area that is also home to other big names such as Shoppers Drug Mart and A&W, so that customers can visit multiple places in one trip. It will be at the major intersection of Algonquin Blvd. and Texas Gulf Road (Highway 655), a very convenient spot right next to Highway 101."
The new store is 10,000 square feet and will offer a wider selection of products.
"It will have a contemporary interior design, with a new online order pickup desk," said the spokesperson.
