The best businesses around were celebrated at an annual awards ceremony.
The Timmins Chamber handed out its 22nd annual Nova Business Awards on May 9. Over 750 people were at the celebration held at the McIntyre Community Building.
"What truly sets this business apart is its unwavering dedication to giving back to the community. Whether it's supporting local businesses, partnering with organizations and First Nation communities, or sponsoring community events, they have always gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of those who work for them, work with them and who live in the communities they serve," said Kraymr Grenke, Chamber board president, in a news release.
The 16 awards went to:

- Melissa Kelly-Lavoie, Melissa Kelly Dance Academy - Newmont Porcupine Young Leader Award
- Radical Gardens - RBC Marketing Award
- Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa - National Bank Innovation Award
- Porcupine Advance Printers & Signs - Northern College Service Excellence Award
- Sparks Pizza - Caisse Alliance New Business Award (under two years)
