The Timmins Public Library launched its boardgame collection at the main branch downtown Timmins on Oct. 14. The collection in South Porcupine is being unveiled on Saturday, Oct. 21. Library Week
Oct. 16-21

It's Ontario Public Library Week and the Timmins Public Library has a week of activities lined up. If you're visiting the main branch on Second Avenue, there is free parking for library guests in the Spruce Street South lot closest to the building. Follow the library on Facebook to stay up-to-date on all that's happening this week.

Check out the new collection that's available to check-out in South Porcupine. The collection is sponsored by Caisse Alliance and the Timmins and Area Board Game Group.

Rock Solid Wrestling presents Valor
Saturday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m.

Scotty the Body is defending his Canadian heavyweight championship against Tornado, who took the title from him. The King of Timmins will also be crowned in a one-night tournament with the winner walking away with a king's ransom. Tickets are available online here or in person at Jump City Comics in the 101 Mall and Wicked Stuff in the Timmins Square.

Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.

The art exhibit in the Grey Gallery features the works of Lionel Venne and Cal Knight. Both artists explore northern themes and ideas through abstract works — collage and mixed media for Venne intricate pointilism for Knight. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
