Friday, Nov. 3, 7:30 p.m.
St. Matthew's Cathedral, 331 Fifth Ave.

Enjoy the beautiful music performed by world-renowned pianist Carl Philippe Gionet and local singers Brianna Sutherland and Katie Kirkpatrick. The suggested admission is $20 or pay what you can. The proceeds are for the Timmins Food Bank. Tickets are available online here.

Handmade Christmas Market

McIntyre Community Centre auditorium and ballroom

Get out your Christmas shopping list and shop local this holiday season! The largest handmade market in Timmins features dozens of Timmins-area and Northern Ontario makers. The annual event is one-day only.

Art Soiree
Saturday, Nov. 4, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa

Five local female artists are banding together for this event to raise money for non-profit organizations  There will be more than 100 paintings on display and available for purchase. Each artist has chosen a non-profit and 15 per cent of sales from the artwork sold that evening will be donated to the organizations. The charities are the MS Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Timmins Food Bank, Timmins and District Hospital Foundation, and the Timmins and District Humane Society.

91st Anniversary Dinner and Dance
Saturday, Nov. 4, 5:30 p.m.
Croatian Hall, 24 Father Costello Dr.

The Schumacher Croatian Hall is marking its milestone with cocktails, dinner and a dance. Tickets are $60 each or $30 for children under 12. They are available by etranser. Email [email protected] for more details.

Diwali
Saturday, Nov. 4, 6-10 p.m.
Northern College gymnasium

There will be music, dancing, performances, food, and fireworks. Admission is free.

Runs until Nov. 20
Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.

The art exhibit in the Grey Gallery features the works of Lionel Venne and Cal Knight. Both artists explore northern themes and ideas through abstract works — collage and mixed media for Venne intricate pointilism for Knight. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
