Saturday night in Iroquois Falls - the first period is over, the Abitibi Eskimos came out flatter than a proverbial pancake - they gave up an early goal to Elliot Lake captain John Waghorne - but began to find their skating legs as the period was winding down. Landon Hiebert scored the tying goal late in the first period, and it's 1-1 after 20 minutes. Bobcats outshooting Eskis 14-6.

The Abitibi Eskimos are having their hands full with the determined Elliot Lake Bobcats at the Jus Jordan Arena in Iroquois Falls. After two periods, they're trailing the Bobcats 3-1 - and being outshot 27-19. Ryan Tront is playing a strong offensive game for the Eskis - here he's giving Elliot Lake goaltender Alex Bitsakis no end of grief - but he didn't score.
