You can hear from a Canadian astronaut in Timmins this week.

Dr. Dave Williams is presenting Motivation and Peak Performance: Reaching for the Stars this Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Timmins High and Vocational School. 

"We are pleased to offer the opportunity to hear Dr. Williams speak to our communities. This event speaks to our vision of empowering all learners to achieve personal excellence," said Bob Brush, District School Board Ontario North East board chair.

A free copy of his book Defying Limits: Lessons from the edge of the universe will be offered to families in attendance.

For schools outside of Timmins, the presentation is being broadcast virtually to Hearst High School, Kapuskasing District High School, Iroquois Falls Secondary School, Joseph H. Kennedy Public School, Kirkland Lake District Composite School, Englehart High School, Timiskaming District Secondary School, and Kerns Public School.
