TIMMINS - In honour of the 50th anniversary of Operation Babylift, author Thanh Campbell is in town this week.

He'll be at the Timmins Public Library on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. Campbell is the author of the memoir Orphan 32 and the children's book Lost and Found: Orphan 32 Goes Home

At the Timmins event, he'll be sharing his story of being taken by mistake at the age of two as part of the last flight out of Saigon, Vietnam, in 1975.

"This year marks the 50th anniversary of Operation Babylift, the mass evacuation of children from Vietnam to countries such as Canada, the United States and others at the end of the Vietnam War in April 1975. Thanh Campbell has travelled extensively as a speaker, sharing his inspiring story and we are pleased to soon be welcoming him in Timmins," reads the Timmins Public Library news release.

The doors for the Thursday event open at 6 p.m., with Campbell talking at 6:30 p.m.

Copies of both books will be available to buy.
