Auxiliary gives boost $100K to hospital foundation

It's for the emergency department redevelopment, IV pumps

TIMMINS - With dedicated volunteers and a supportive community, a local group made a big donation towards healthcare in the region.

The Timmins and District Hospital Auxiliary recently donated $100,000 to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADHF). Half of the cash is for the emergency department redevelopment, with the other half being put towards IV pumps on the medical floors.

The donation was made at the auxiliary's annual Christmas luncheon which brings together its volunteers to celebrate the year's work.

At the hospital, the group runs the gift shop, sells Nevada tickets and organizes seasonal fundraisers to raise money. Through the years, they've raised over $2 million.

"We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of the hospital auxiliary," said Jason Laneville, TADHF executive director, in a news release.

"Their commitment not only enhances our facilities but also fosters a sense of community and compassion within our hospital."

The hospital foundation is amid a $25 million capital campaign. Of that, $8.5 million is for a new emergency room and $16.5 million is to upgrade hospital equipment.
