If you’re looking for a way to enjoy the summer, there is a lot happening this week.
The downtown Timmins Urban Park will be set up on Third Avenue between Balsam and Maple. It runs July 18 to 20 and this week’s theme is a Health Fair. Wednesday there are kids' activities, Thursday is the farmers' market, and Friday is tunes at noon. It runs from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The farmers' cannot start selling their goods until 11 a.m. when the market bell rings, however.
The summer concert series is offering its first Beats and Eats Wednesday, July 18 at the Schumacher Lions Park near the McIntyre Arena.
The free live music starts at 3 p.m. This week, Radical Gardens, McIntyre Catering and Ice Cream Friendz will also be selling food on site.

Beauce Carnaval is back and is setting up in a new location at the McIntyre Arena.
It runs from Wednesday, July 18 to Sunday, July 22.
The hours are July 18 from 6 – 10 p.m., July 19 from 1 – 10 p.m., July 20 from 1 – 10:30 p.m., July 21 from 12:30 – 10:30 p.m., and July 22 from 12:30 – 5 p.m.

Local children’s author Paul Toffanello will be at the Timmins Public Library at 2 p.m. Friday, July 20.
The Harry Potter Escape Room is also back at the library this week. It’s for people ages nine years and up. Register a team by calling 705-360-2623.
At the C.M. Shields Centennial Library Branch in South Porcupine, the STEAM Makerspace this week is basic slime. Pop in any time to get creative.
