A boil water advisory has been issued for part of downtown Timmins.
The precautionary measure is for Pine Street South between Second and Third Avenue.
The advisory is due to the loss of water pressure and water in the area. Environmental services is doing emergency watermain repairs.
People in the area should:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making formula or juices, brushing teeth, washing raw food and making ice
- Wash dishes with boiled water that has been cooled or use potable water from another source
- Post at all water taps that the water is not safe to drink
The advisory is in effect for at least 48 hours after the repairs are finished.
