NDP Guy Bourgouin has won an incredibly tight race in Mushkegowuk-James Bay.

All of the polls have now reported, with Bourgouin, who was first elected in 2018, winning by four votes over PC Dave Plourde.

As the results trickled throughout the night in for the riding, it constantly switched back and forth between Bourgouin and Plourde in the top spot.

The unofficial Elections Ontario results have Bourgouin with 3,606 (45.4 per cent) votes and Plourde with 3,602 (45.35 per cent).

For provincial elections, a returning officer must apply for a recount if the margin between first and second is less than 25 votes.
