Mail won't be delivered in Timmins today (Feb. 28).
Canada Post has issued a red delivery service alert for Timmins due to the weather.
"A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out or recalling them. Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so. The safety of our employees is our number one priority," said Canada Post in a news release.
When service resumes, customers who receive home mail delivery are encouraged to clear the ice from walkways, stairs and driveways to ensure safe access for the mail carriers.
