Friday got a little more exciting for one local businesswoman in Timmins. The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADHF) along with James Alexander and Sherri Lapointe from De Beers Group and Blaise MacNeil, Timmins and District Hospital (TDH) CEO are delighted to announce the winner of the Foundation’s Diamond Draw raffle. The beautiful one-carat Forevermark diamond from the De Beers Group Victor Mine is going to Debbie Kolli.
Barb McCormick, Manager of Donor relations contacted Debbie: “Do you have time to come to the Foundation office this morning; we would love to give you a one carat diamond!”
“Are you serious! I will be right over!” Debbie gleefully exclaimed.
“Everyone wins! The community, the patients we serve, our healthcare professionals and of course Debbie Kolli,” stated Barb McCormick. “The proceeds will go towards advancing technology within our hospital’s Critical Care Unit. Upgrades in technology will bring improvements that will advance the flow of clinical information helping our nurses and physicians spend more time focusing on enhanced patient care and safety.”
“We thank De Beers Group and our volunteer board members for contributing to the efforts of the Foundation’s fundraising goals.”
“This beautiful Forevermark diamond comes from the final months of production at Victor Mine, Ontario’s first and only diamond mine,” said Sherri Lapointe, Social Performance Manager, De Beers Group Victor Mine. “It is the product of a decade of excellence in safety, production, and contribution to local communities. De Beers Group is proud to support improved patient care facilities through the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation by donating over $100,000 worth of diamonds that have helped raise many times that amount for the past 10 years.”
The TADHF is an accredited charity, formed to support the Timmins and District Hospital by raising funds for medical equipment, beyond funding available from government sources.
Since 1985, TADHF has transferred more than $49 Million to TADH, providing funds essential to ensure our hospital and healthcare teams can deliver the best in specialized care to patients in the district. Our ultimate goal, with the assistance of our donors, our volunteers, Hospital staff and health care professionals is to provide the best health care to our community.
