The City of Timmins and the Timmins Fire Department wish to advise residents of a fire ban, effective immediately. The fire ban prohibits any open-air burning within city limits.

The Timmins Fire Department works in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) on the Municipal Protection Area, and residents can expect an additional ban to be issued by the Ministry for additional areas outside city limits.

The Timmins Fire Department assures us there is no immediate cause for concern, but reminds residents to continue to take precautions in order to prevent forest fires in our area.
