Two new residential lots in Porcupine have been sold.
Bada Holdings Inc. (Anthony Torlone) paid $22,500 and $25,000 for two lots created on Michener Boulevard in Melview Park. The sale was approved by Timmins council at its March 19 meeting.
The $47,500 raised from the sale is designated for the future redevelopment of the park, which is behind the Porcupine Mall.
Creating the lots has been in the works since 2021.

The lots are on the west side of the park that fronts Michener Boulevard. There is about 86 feet on the east side, which may be developed into a parking lot.
Three bids from the same three bidders were received for each property.
The community development committee turned down plans to consolidate the properties for a multi-unit building and to consolidate them for a house and residential garage.
Bada Holdings had proposed an eight-unit building, but bought the properties with the condition that the development is limited to single-detached dwellings.
Planning staff have noted, however, that with changes to the planning act in 2022, three residential units could be built on each property as long as there is a parking space for each residential unit.
To ensure that the lots aren't accidentally merged into one on title, the east property is in Torlone's name and the west property is under his company, Bada Holdings.
Meanwhile, plans to redevelop Melview Park are ongoing. The community group has applied for funding and is waiting for a response.
