Flight network has put pins on the map for the Top 50 Small Towns in Canada. Among the top 50 Cochrane, Ontario was deemed a winner.
While only one of 7 small towns in total recognized in the province of Ontario, Cochrane is the only town in northern Ontario to have made the list! Check out what Flight Network has to say here.
Cochrane was also recently named one of the fifteen cutest places in Ontario to visit by NARTORONTO tourism. See what they had to say here.
As the host community for the sought after snowmobile summit 2016, November 3 and 4, Cochrane and district will be highlighted as one of the most popular destinations for snowmobilers as well.
Cochrane Mayor, Peter Politis proudly summarized the recent accolades around his community as follows:
“Really, it’s a testament to our region as a whole in how far we’ve come together in not only being proud of who we are but learning to show it. We take pride in breaking new trail that leads to achievements once thought not possible for a small town.
Exciting accomplishments like being the only community in Ontario with a free bike share program; Or having pop-up pianos that are randomly left outdoors for the public to use at will, or having one of the most advanced recreation centers in the region that includes palm trees at the local pool; Or having the world’s only captive bear facility dedicated to Polar bears while having the largest fenced in natural habitat, and one of the leading education centers for Polar Bears.
We’re fortunate as northerners to experience the greatest way of life in the best backyard on the planet every day, and we’re happy to see the rest of the world taking notice.”
