Crews knocked down a house fire quickly last night, says the deputy fire chief.
Around 8:15 p.m. on June 14, a structure fire on Renee Place was reported to the Timmins Fire Department. No one was injured in the blaze.
Deputy fire chief Scott Atkinson says the fire was contained to the exterior and attic.
"Crews knocked down the fire very quickly from the exterior then from inside the attic space," he said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
"Crews from Timmins fulltime staff, Schumacher station and Mountjoy station attended the scene. There was a total of 30 firefighters on scene," says Atkinson. "The fire crews on scene did a fantastic job to contain the fire and prevent the fire from spreading."
