Kirkland Lake’s director of development services has resigned.
The town released a statement on Friday (Feb. 23) to share Clinton Johanson’s resignation.
“Clinton has been an integral part of the town’s team, contributing his expertise and dedication over the duration of his employment. He will be missed as a member of the senior management team and will be known for his kindness to all,” they wrote.
The resignation allowed the town to take a closer look at the position and its development services department.
“This re-evaluation has led to a recent reorganization where development services will now be known as the department of development and enterprise services,” they wrote.
As of Feb. 20, Dan Laverdure has taken on the new role of director of development and enterprise services.
“We are happy to see this transition come to fruition and look forward to the new changes to come,” they wrote.
Mayor Stacy Wight told TimminsToday Johanson was a valued member of the Kirkland Lake team and said they wish him great success as he moves into the private sector.
“We extend congratulations on his next chapter, and we wish him all the best, and thank him for his service to the town,” she said in the release.
“We are excited to see the changes to the Kirkland Lake Team. Please join me in congratulating Dan on his new role as director of development and enterprise Services."
