TIMMINS - With Christmas cards to support the local hospital already shipped out, foundation staff are offering up other ways to donate in the wake of the postal strike.
The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation has mailed out its 32nd annual Christmas card campaign.
With Canada Post workers on strike, foundation staff say the work stoppage may affect supporters from being able to respond. The charity is reminding people of several other ways to support the hospital.
Secure donations can be made online, or over the phone by calling 705-360-6039. You can also stop by the foundation office, which is located in the hospital near the gift shop.
"Your support means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued generosity, especially during this holiday season. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who rely on our care," said foundation executive director Jason Laneville in a news release.
The money raised during this year's Christmas card campaign is to buy cardiac monitors for the intensive care unit.
