TIMMINS - With overnight temperatures expected to drop over the next several nights, the City of Timmins has issued an extreme cold weather alert.
For Dec. 19-21, the City of Timmins says the mercury's expected to drop overnight to a range between -25 to -28 C with the windchill. The advisories are put out when the weather is expected to drop below -25 C, including windchill.
"Exposure to extreme cold temperatures can cause serious and sometimes even life-threatening health problems, such as frostbite and hypothermia. Protection from extreme cold conditions includes avoiding wind exposure, dressing in warm layers and covering exposed skin," reads the alert.
