Minstead, the newest project from integrative restorative development specialists Riversedge Developments, is launching this month in Iroquois Falls. The female-led business will be located in the town’s formal 'Central Shop' – now part of the Abitibi Common’s project and renamed The Roundhouse.
After joining the tiny house movement and creating her own tiny-house, Carole met with Riversedge CEO, Justus Veldman, and together, they plan to build tiny-homes in Iroquois Falls.
“Mayor Shea has created the perfect environment in Iroquois Falls to help support small entrepreneurs like Carole,” said Veldman after his tour of the tiny home. “Riversedge and local suppliers are going to surround Carole with the backing she needs to keep doing her great work, and hopefully, employ more folks in the community.”
Carole will work in The Roundhouse to make tiny homes, and hopefully draw folks to simple living on the beautiful Abitibi Commons property on the banks of the Abitibi River. Carole hopes to empower women in the workforce and skilled trades and eventually form a remote skills training centre through partnerships with postsecondary institutions.
The first five homes have been ordered, and, using local tradespeople, each one should take just over four weeks to complete. You can find more information about the homes, the property, and integrative restorative development on Minstead’s website and Facebook page.
