Freezing Drizzle Advisory in effect for:

  • Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls
  • Kapuskasing - Hearst - Smooth Rock Falls
  • Fraserdale - Pledger Lake
  • Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake

Areas of freezing drizzle are expected or occurring.

Hazard: Freezing drizzle with light ice accretion or build-up. Icy and slippery conditions possible, particularly on untreated surfaces.

Timing: Continuing through this morning.

Discussion: Freezing drizzle is expected to continue early this morning and will taper off later this morning, though a slight risk could remain into the early afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.
