People filling up today are feeling an extra pinch on the pocketbook.
Gas prices in Timmins are up about 14 cents a litre. This morning (April 18) many local stations had hiked their prices to 183.6 cents per litre. Last night, the cost was 169.9 cents a litre.
Experts predicted that the cost of fuel would spike today.
Compared to last month in Timmins, the price is up 28.3 cents. A year ago, people in the area were paying 19.7 cents less per litre, according to Gasbuddy.
The highest recorded average price for Timmins was in June 2022 when it was 209.9 cents. The lowest average was in April 2020 when gas was 73.3 cents per litre.
