Kamiskotia Snow Resort is ready to have its earliest opening weekend in more than a decade.
The ski operations at the Timmins hill are opening this weekend, according to general manager Eric Philipow.
"Thanks to some snowmaking weather and a little help from Mother Nature, we're ready to open the Skyway chair this Saturday and Sunday," he said. "This puts us ahead of last year's opening, making this the earliest Kam has opened in over a decade with even better conditions than last season's opening."
The hill is open Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are three fully groomed runs open: the Kreiner, Booby Trap and Chalet. The condition of the Sissy Schuss and Boardwalk are packed powder/early season coverage.
Philipow said the anticipated opening date for the Downhill chair and tub park are Dec. 22, if not sooner.
"We have not had the tube park operational for the duration of the Christmas break in many years either," he said.
