TIMMINS - A week of activities to celebrate all-things reading is in store.
The Timmins Public Library is celebrating Ontario Public Library Week, which runs Oct. 20-26. This year's theme is Libraries for Life.
All week there is a book sale at the main library branch at 320 Second Ave. The interactive displays I Spy and Which Genre Are You? are also set up for the week, as long as a free 'Why I love my library' draw.
Events are at the main branch, unless otherwise noted. The schedule is:
- Senior Games Social (C.M. Shields Centennial Branch) – Monday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
- St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs for Older Adults – Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.
- VIDMAR Makerspace Open House Tours (registration required) – Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
- Patron Appreciation Day – refreshments served (both branches) – Friday, Oct. 25 (All Day)
- Chat with your Librarians – Patron Appreciation Social – Friday, Oct. 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
