Guy and Carol Allen, members of the 2013 HGC Hollinger Mixed Golf Tournament dropped by the Timmins YMCA on Monday to present a cheque to Wayne Bozzer, Executive Director of the Y. The $11,000 cheque represents the amount raised by the August long week-end golf tournament held at the Hollinger Golf Club. All the money donated by the tournament will go directly to our local Strong Kids program", said Bozzer. "This was a great partnership for the Y and we really appreciate the hard work put in to the organizing of the tournament by Mike Archer and his Committee".
Bozzer was accompanied by several staff members and a group of excited children for the cheque presentation.
Guy and Carol Allen noted that supporting the Timmins Y was a "no- brainer" for the Organizing Committee. " The Y continues to support many young families and children 's programs in the community and we felt very comfortable that our contribution was going to be used to improve local Y initiatives," added Carol Allen.
