Heat warning in effect for:
- Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake
- Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls
Hot and humid conditions expected Thursday and Friday.
A hot and humid air mass will move over the area Thursday and persist into Friday. Daytime maximum temperatures near 29 degrees are expected along with an overnight minimum temperature near 18 degrees, providing little relief from the heat.
A slightly cooler airmass is expected to arrive Friday night bringing cooler temperatures for the weekend.
Extreme heat affects everyone. Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
