A winter storm has closed a number of roads in the Timmins area.
According to the Ministry of Transportation's 511, the current closures due to poor weather and road conditions are:
• Highway 144 between Timmins and Sudbury is closed in both directions. UPDATE: The road has re-opened between Cartier and Sudbury, but remains closed from Sudbury to Timmins.
• Highway 11 between Thibeault Hill in North Bay and Matheson is closed in both directions
• Highway 101 is closed between Timmins and Chapleau, and from Chapleau to Wawa at the junction of Highway 17
• Highway 129 is closed in both directions between Thessalon and Chapleau
• Highway 65 in New Liskeard is closed in both directions at Harris Road for a tractor trail stuck on a hill. UPDATE: The road has re-opened in both directions.
• Highway 101 is closed in both directions between Matheson and the Quebec border.
