TIMMINS - With snow in the forecast all day, some places are closed or closing early.
A winter storm warning remains in effect for Timmins, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls.
Up to 35 centimetres of snow is expected through until Thursday morning. The City of Timmins has declared a significant weather event and is anticipating delays in plowing some roads and most sidewalks. There may also be delays and/or cancellations for Timmins Transit.
Here's what we know is impacted by the weather:
- All city arenas are closed, effective 2 p.m. All programming and activities are cancelled.
- The Archie Dillon Sportsplex Pool is closing at 3 p.m. All programming and activities for this evening are cancelled.
- Both branches of the Timmins Public Library close at 4 p.m.
- The Timmins Learning Centre is closed.
- The Timmins Native Friendship Centre is closed and all programs are postponed.
- The Quilts for Survivors Studio is closed.
- Northern College campuses in Timmins, Kirkland Lake and Haileybury have limited openings. The East End Family Health Team and daycare services are open.
- Collège Boréal campuses in Timmins, Hearst and Kapuskasing are closed.
- Moose Cree First Nation offices in Timmins, Cochrane and Kapuskasing are closing at noon.
