The Victory Tavern 90th Anniversary 

Aug. 24 - 29

The Victory Tavern, 91 Cedar St. S.

There will be entertainment from 8 p.m. to midnight every night. Some of the performers they have lined up include Skinny, Paul Sebalj, Rose Lariviere, and Wayne Covey. Tickets for Monday to Thursday are $5 each, and the Friday show is already sold out. All the money is going to the Croatian Hall in Schumacher.

Bill Barilko Billboard Unveilling

Wednesday, Aug. 26, 6 p.m.

Bannerman Park, Porcupine 

A group of local hockey enthusiasts will be unveiling a billboard to honour Bill Barilko. People are encouraged to wear their blue and white for the Toronto Maple Leaf legend. Strict social distancing guidelines will be enforced and a maximum of 100 people will be allowed to congregate at the park.

Urban Park Market 

Thursday, Aug. 27, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Downtown Timmins

The popular market featuring fresh produce, baking, local cheese, and more is set up on Third Avenue.

Back-to-School Virtual Townhall

Thursday, Aug. 27, 6 p.m.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off

Saturday, Aug. 29, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Items included in the collection are: paint, flammable and miscellaneous organics, aerosols, single-use batteries, singlue-use propane cylinders and refillable propane tanks, oxidizers, pesticides, antifreeze, oil filters, inorganic acids and bases, fuel and oil, pathological waste (sharps), pharmaceuticals, compact fluorescents and fluorescent tubes, and household electronics.

Stop by for a variety of vendors offering fresh produce and handmade goods.
