Anora is a 2024 American comedy-drama film written, directed, and edited by Sean Baker. It follows the beleaguered marriage between Anora (Mikey Madison), a young sex worker, and Vanya Zakharov (Mark Eydelshteyn), the son of a Russian oligarch. Tickets are available online.

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here.

South Porcupine Winter Carnival
Feb. 7-9
This popular annual event kicks off on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Northern College, where you can also get up close to reptiles with Aquatics and Exotics. The fun ends with a fireworks display on Sunday at 7 p.m. The full schedule for the weekend of events is available online on Facebook.

Outdoor Rinks
There are maintained outdoor rinks at Leo DelVillano Park, the Mountjoy Arena, Roy Nicholson Park and the Whitney Arena. The Hollinger Skate Path in the heart of the city is also open for the season.
