Here's what's on in Timmins this weekend

The Porcupine Mall craft show is back, it's your last chance to get your pet photos with Santa and there's a Holiday Fun Day

Val's Ton in a Tundra
Friday, Dec. 2, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The non-perishable food drive is back for the 18th year. It's held by James Toyota with support from KiSS 99.3 and 92.1 ROCK. For the event, Toyota Tundras will be set up Food Basics Timmins, Giant Tiger Timmins, Pick of the Crop, Foodland, Johnson's Your Independent Grocer and Alan's No Frills. All of the donations are to fill Christmas Food Boxes. 

Porcupine Mall Craft and Gift Show

Shop local this holiday season! The Porcupine Mall's Craft and Vendor Show features local artisans, crafters and vendors with a variety of offerings — from baking, to handmade items, jewelry and accessories and more!

Rosewood Ave Christmas Concert 
Friday, Dec. 2, 7 p.m.
Iroquois Falls Secondary School

The opening performances will be by the Iroquois Falls Community Choir and Step N Sound Studios before the duo takes the stage for a holiday concert. Tickets are available online here or by contacting Justice at 705-232-8580 or [email protected].

Holiday Fun Day
Saturday, Dec. 3, 1-4 p.m.
Downtown Timmins

The Downtown Timmins day of all-things Christmas. Explore emergency vehicles and roast marshmallows on Second Avenue in front of the library. At the Timmins Public Library, Santa Claus will have a gift for every child and there will be holiday crafts, storytelling and songs, and characters from the Northern Ontario Expo. At the Timmins Museum: NEC there will be holiday crafts. At the TEDC on Spruce Street South there is hot chocolate, live music, temporary Christmas tattoos and Queen Elsa. Donations for the Timmins Food Bank are being collected on Second Avenue. 

Pet photos with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Timmins Family YMCA, 376 Poplar Ave.

The Timmins and District Humane Society’s annual fundraiser is back. Bring your fur family to get a photo with Santa. The cost is $20 for one portrait sitting. Additional portrait sittings are $5 each. Bring a USB to save your photo.

Filipino Association Christmas Party
Saturday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m.
Senator Hotel

It's open to everyone and will include dancers, music, raffles, and lots of food. Tickets to the event are available but there aren’t many spots left. Tickets can be reserved by phone at 705-363-0720 or at Lady Luck restaurant and convenience store at 33 Balsam St. S.

Honouring the Past
Wednesday, Nov. 3 to Dec. 30
Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.

An exhibit by members of the Porcupine Art Club. It explores elements of the past in the community and of a more personal nature. The exhibit features work from 21 current members and work from past members Evelyn Rymer, Heili Ellefson and Doris Sturgeon.

Runs Fridays until Dec. 2, 6-8 p.m.
Bible Fellowship Assembly and Zoom

People grieving the loss of a loved one can start at any time during the 13 weeks. Contact Ted Bendell at 705-360-0697 or email [email protected]. This is a free service provided by the church. If it is of value to you, donations are welcomed towards Bible Fellowship Assembly.
