A high-risk COVID-19 exposure advisory has been issued for Restaurant Nadeau.

People at the restaurant March 27 from noon to 1 p.m. may have been exposed, said Dr. Lianne Catton, Porcupine Health Unit medical officer of health, in a news release.

People who were at the restaurant during the noted time are asked to self-isolate for 14 days, ending Saturday, April 10.

After self-isolating, people are asked to call the COVID-19 information line at 705-267-1181 or 1-800-461-1818.

"The PHU is working with Restaurant Nadeau who remain dedicated to the measures to protect both patrons and staff. Ongoing precautions will continue to be taken by management, staff and patrons to reduce the risk of infection and prevent the transmission of COVID-19," reads the news release.

There are 19 known active cases — 16 in Timmins, one in the area of Hearst, Hornepayne, one in the Kapuskasing area, and one in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls.

To curb the spread of the virus, yesterday a provincial shutdown was announced. It's effective today (Saturday, April 3) and in place for at least four weeks.
