Amidst a thunderstorm warning, the Porcupine Dante Club celebrated Festa Italiana.
Sunday, about 1,000 people participated in the street festival, enjoying popular Italian food, drinks and activities.
Like many other events, it's the first time Festa Italiana has been held for a couple of years. The festival started earlier on Friday with a party in the parking lot and a gala celebrating its 70th anniversary was held on Saturday. Organizers said the participation through Friday and Saturday was good. They are happy that people made it out during the bad weather forecast.

The members have been practising for the stage events for weeks. Dr. Chris Loreto is a board member and was actively participating in singing. The crowd was happily cheering for the Italian songs.
"Italians like noise; noise means happiness, noise means laughter. Always noise, harmonious noise,” said Loreto.
“At least one day, people not talking about pandemic, gas price or weather. Just having fun."
Helen Watson, one of the participants, was "so happy" that the event was back after two years.
