A new monthly draw is helping raise money for the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation.

The online fundraiser launches today (Sept. 1) and there's a guaranteed minimum prize of $7,000 each month. Anyone in Ontario can buy a ticket.

"We are looking forward to the launch of a fun new way to support the Timmins and District Hospital; when you win, your hospital wins," said Kate Fyfe, TDH president and CEO, in a news release.

Tickets are $5 for three chances, $10 for 10 chances, or $20 for 60 chances. You can buy them online here.

"This lottery will create a new stream of revenue that will further our goal of bringing the best and most modern pieces of equipment into our hospital," said Mary Ellen Pauli, foundation vice chair.

The money raised in the draw will go towards buying medical equipment or doing renovations at the hospital. While the provincial government funds operating costs at the facility, that money does not cover medical equipment or capital upgrades.
