The Timmins Police Service continues its search for missing Timmins resident Christopher Rivers, 44. Rivers was reported missing on Aug. 28, 2017.
On Sept. 6, 2017, the car Rivers was believed to be driving was located abandoned in an area near Murphy Road, in the northeast end of the city.
This led to a thorough, two-day ground search in the area, by members of the Timmins Police Service’s Emergency Response Team, Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue, and utilizing the Ontario Provincial Police’s unmanned aerial device and helicopter.
After having exhausted all resources in relation to the ground search, and negative results in locating the missing person, it was suspended pending further investigation.
The investigation into Rivers’ whereabouts continues by officers from the Timmins Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Section. Investigators continue to follow up on all information received and examine every possibility in locating Christopher Rivers.
Christopher Rivers is described as being a Caucasian male, approximately 5’10” tall, and weighing approximately 190 lbs. He has a medium build, light brown hair, and blue eyes. He is described as having unshaven facial hair.
Once again, the Timmins Police Service is appealing for any information the public may have in relation to this investigation. Regardless of how insignificant it may seem, any individual with information about the whereabouts of Christopher Rivers is asked to call the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.
