TIMMINS - It was the warmest Oct. 30 recorded in decades in Timmins and other areas of the northeast. 

On Mischief Night, as the day before Halloween is sometimes called, the mercury hit 21.5C in Timmins. The old record of 19.4C was set in 1999, according to Environment Canada data. 

In Earlton, 20.3C was recorded yesterday, just beating out the previous record of 20C that was set in 1946.

The Kirkland Lake area hit 20.4C, beating the old record of 17.2C from 1956.

From record-breaking heat to winter advisories, the weather is drastically different today. 

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Timmins, Cochrane, and Iroquois Falls.

This afternoon into Friday, five to 10 centimetres of snow is forecasted, with the risk of freezing rain in some areas as well.
