A Kirkland Lake woman is using a cash windfall for an overdue honeymoon and upgrading her home.
Kirsten Riendeau won $142,422 in the September draw for the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation's 50/50.
She was on a conference call for work when the hospital foundation tried to contact her with the good news.
"After about four calls in six minutes, Kirsten decided to put her call on hold to pick up our call. (Persistence pays off!) She was thrilled she did," reads the foundation announcement.
"Kirsten plays our lottery every month as a way to give back to a great organization. She was in a severe car accident many years ago and saw firsthand the number of resources needed to operate a healthcare facility. She was also proud to tell us that her son was born at TADH."
Riendeau plans to use the cash for an overdue honeymoon and to buy new appliances for her home.
Tickets for the September draw are on sale now. The proceeds of the next draw are to be another ultrasound unit for the Medical Imaging department.
Tickets are only available online here.
