Want to sing praises of a rock star Timmins business?
Nominations for the 2018 Nova Business Excellence Awards are open.
Business Takes the Stage is the rock star theme for the 16th edition of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce event that celebrates entrepreneurial achievement.
Anyone can make a nomination — from customers, to family, friends, or a business owner.
“Businesses work hard all year round and this is a great way to showcase how they work hard and to show appreciation, celebrate the accomplishments that they’ve had. Any way we can celebrate our businesses is what keeps our community strong,” said Suzan Green, chamber manager of member services.

- BMT Insurance & Financial Services Business Contribution to the Community Award (1-5 Employees)

Timmins Chamber of Commerce president Jamie Clarke announced the nomination period and rock star theme at the quarterly members’ meeting.
“The Nova Awards are a great way to make sure our businesses get the celebrity treatment for at least one night, so if you know someone who fits the bill, be sure to shine a light on their work with a nomination. Even the best can’t be celebrated unless they’re nominated,” said Clarke in a news release.
Nominations are open until Feb. 1 and the packages are available here. Finalists will be notified March 6.
The awards will be handed out Thursday, May 10 at the McIntyre Arena. Tickets for the event are always a hot item and go on sale March 22.
