Know someone worthy of a place on the Timmins Human Rights Wall of Fame?
The deadline to nominate someone is this March 14.
The Timmins Together Selection Committee is looking for residents who have shown leadership in human rights, humanitarianism or anti-discrimination, inclusivity, and welcoming activities locally and beyond. Nominations can be done online here. Hard copies are available at Service Timmins in city hall.
People can also submit all-inclusive anti-racism artwork to be included in a montage by emailing [email protected].
The annual Evening of Applause, where the Wall of Fame inductee is usually celebrated, is postponed.
Instead, on March 21 — the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination — there will be a virtual learning opportunity. Hosted by Timmins Together, the session will look at recognizing and addressing unconscious bias. The free event is open to everyone and will start at noon. Register for the session here.
