NEWS RELEASE
TIMMINS AND DISTRICT HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
*************************
No hackers in this crowd! Come rain, shine or COVID, the ladies of the Hollinger Thursday Morning Golf League gathered weekly this past summer to enjoy a round of golf.
Jean Cousineau says the group has played every Thursday for over 20 summers. This group averages 60 players on the course and collectively have donated over $9,000 to many local charities through their love of golf and community.
The annual collection of donations has supported many local charities over the years and this year the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation will receive $500 towards the COVID Relief Support Fund.
Barb McCormick, manager of donor relations explains, “Third-party fundraisers give supporters the flexibility and freedom to do meaningful activities and help a charity at the same time. The concept has been around for years. Their love of golf allowed the Thursday Morning Golf League to do something good for them and help a cause near and dear to their hearts. Thank you! We couldn’t support the Timmins and District Hospital without amazing women like you.”
