If you ever thought that maybe one day you would like to fish a tournament with your son or daughter or just enjoy fishing with your children, this is one event you will enjoy with them.
This Saturday will see anglers and young anglers once again heading to the Cache Campground on beautiful Kenogamissi Sea in Timmins to compete in the Lund Angler Young Angler Tournament, hosted by Guiho Saw Sales and Marine Ltd.
Each team competing in the tournament consists of one adult angler and two young anglers under the age of 17. Every team will have a great time fishing in a competitive format style tournament, with an official weigh-in, prizes, awards and Topper Pizza.
To top it off, no one will leave this tournament empty handed.
The AYA tournaments were the first organization to offer this type of tournament format to anglers and young anglers.
The main objective is to introduce and educate young anglers to competitive sport fishing in a fun environment, while creating memories that would last a life time.
This year, first place prize will be a 2017 Lund A12 Utility Boat, a 2017 Mercury 5MH 4 Stroke Engine and 2017 Shorelander Trailer.
Other prizes this year will be a trolling motor, a 2017 Suzuki DF2.5 4 Stroke Engine with a six-year warranty courtesy of Suzuki Canada, Fiber Glass Fish Reproduction from Mark Jenson for the biggest youth walleye and many other prizes.
The target species for the tournament will be walleye. Entry fee to the tournament is $150 per team.
Late entries will not be guaranteed a starting position. Alternates will be held until the week of the tournament.
Entry forums should be mailed or brought to: Guiho Saw Sales and Marine Ltd., Ref AYA 2016, 2480 Riverside Drive, Timmins, On., Canada, P4R 1M9.

These events were designed not only for the anglers and young anglers but also for the families that attend them so be sure to come on out and cheer on your favourite team.
Each year I look forward to the Lund Angler Young Angler Tournament.
Once again I'll have the opportunity to ride around shooting some video and pictures with Lund Pro Staffer Craig Salmonson in his Lund 202GL powered by his 300 HP. Mercury outboard however the best part of this tournament is the smiles and stories I get to listen to from the young anglers.
