NEWS RELEASE
TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE
*************************
The Timmins Police Service is proud to introduce one of its newest members.
Taking up the ranks is Constable Alexandre Levis, a Timmins native who makes up part of platoon 4 under the watchful eye of his coach officer Constable Jeff DelGuidice.
Constable Levis is a graduate of Ecole Catholique Secondaire Theriault who successfully pursued his Police Foundations diploma at Conestoga College in Kitchener.
He brings with him a wealth of experience with 6 years of previous military service with the Algonquin Regiment, with noted years of service with the Royal Highlander Fusiliers of Canada.
He also served as a Special Constable with the Timmins Police Service for 2 years prior to successfully competing for a position as Constable.
He is quoted as saying “I enjoy all aspects of policing but, general patrol and contributing to making my home town community a safer place really appeals to me”.
There is a family heritage issue attached to his commitment in that his mother’s cousin, Louis Larche was a former Timmins Police Service officer.
Alex keeps in shape for the rigors of policing by being an active member of the local men’s basketball league.
That said, Alex refuses to make comment on how far the Toronto Raptors will go in the NBA playoffs.
The Timmins Police Service readily acknowledges that this officer is an eager contributor to our commitment to effective and professional front line police service delivery in Timmins.
